Food Safety Program
CMI warehouses are committed to the safety of food. Each warehouse has taken the initiative of implementing a Food Safety program that encompasses the entire operation. The Food Safety program takes an integral part in the growing, harvesting, warehousing, packing, and shipping of the fruit. All employees are properly trained and take all measures necessary to ensure the safety and quality of the food.
The Food Safety program requires that proper documentation be kept for all procedures. The documented files include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Trace Back/Recall, Sanitation, Pest Control, Maintenance, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Monitoring Records, Inspections and Corrective Actions.
CMI recently hired Bob Carter as Food Safety Director. Carter will work closely with Food Safety administrators throughout CMI's growing, packing and shipping operations to ensure CMI products meet or exceed present certifications.
Under Carter's direction, CMI will add two stringent certifications to their current Food Safety Program - SQF Certification for CMI warehouses and EUREPGAP 3rd Party Certification for CMI orchards. Carter will also oversee CMI's organic certifications.
